Napper were commissioned by the Wordsworth Trust to develop the design of a new collections centre (concept designed by Benson&Forsyth) up to RIBA Stage D for submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund for grant aid, and thereafter take the project through to completion on site.
The building contains the priceless collection of historic manuscripts from the Romantic Period and houses regular events and exhibitions for the many visitors as well as research and reading rooms for the visiting scholars. The success of the building has been recognised through architectural awards from the RIBA and the Civic Trust.
