Napper Architects are double award winners at the LABC Northern Building Excellence Awards 2024

The winners in the LABC Building Excellence Northern Awards 2024 have been announced and we are delighted with two category winners.

St. Peter’s Close in rural Northumberland, for Dacre Street Developments, won the Best Medium Volume New Housing Development category. The project provides six new homes in the village of Glanton. Materials and landscaping reflect the local context, and the layout takes advantage of views across the fields to the south and east.

North Shields Transport Hub won the Best Public/Community Building category. The building incorporates on-site energy generation through solar panels and heat pumps and is Net Carbon Zero in use. The building was constructed by Willmott Dixon, and the design team, led by Napper Architects, included civil and structural consultants Fairhurst, services consultant Desco, transport and highways consultant Sanderson Associates, fire safety consultant Centurion, sustainability and low carbon consultants CBRE, landscape consultant GL Hearn and acoustic consultant Apex Acoustics.
