Darras Road
Napper Architects were commissioned to design a bespoke family residence on a large plot in Darras Hall. The exterior of the building incorporates features of ‘arts and crafts’ houses while the interior contains contemporary open-plan living and circulation areas.
The central entrance leads to a triple-height reception hall and stair. At ground level this provides access to the kitchen, dining and utility rooms to one side and the family room, drawing room and snug to the other. The upper levels accommodate bedrooms, study, library, games room and guest accommodation.
Full-height glazing allows for views of the large garden and existing mature tree belt to the rear. Externally, the palette of materials is restrained utilising white render, local sandstone and slate roofs.
