Feasibility Design Studies for four new Primary Schools
Napper Architects, in partnership with Turner & Townsend, have been commissioned by the Department of Education to provide Feasibility Design studies and Technical Advice services for four new primary schools.
The schools, located in Newcastle, Durham and Leeds are being delivered through the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme and will replace existing buildings with new facilities and landscaped grounds. They will be delivered on site through one of the DfE’s Contractor Frameworks.
As well as a focus on enhancing the learning experience and curriculum delivery, the designs will embrace sustainability with an emphasis on Net Zero Carbon in Operation, bio-diversity across the site and the opportunities for off-site construction.
The commission follows similar Feasibility studies by Napper Architects, with T&T, for a series of primary and secondary school projects for the DfE, including Whitley Bay High School, and Farringdon Community Academy (both on site with a combined value of over £50m) and Great Park Academy, Newcastle (£24m) due on site later this year.
