The City Baths commended at the Lord Mayor’s Design Awards

The refurbishment of the Grade II-listed City Baths in Newcastle has been commended at the Lord Mayor’s Design Awards. The building re-opened to the public after the completion of work commissioned by Fusion Lifestyle to breathe new life into the historic building, including restoration of the existing pool and Turkish Baths and the addition of new facilities including a fully equipped gym, fitness studios, sauna and changing accommodation.

The judges highlighted the retention of the building’s use and the preservation of many of the key features of the original building stating:

“The reuse and renewal of one of the city’s most important historic recreational buildings is highly commended.”
