Planning Approval secured for new Hybrid Business Innovation Centre

Napper Architects have secured Planning Approval for the new £8 million Hybrid Business Innovation Centre for Darlington Borough Council which will provide a bespoke environment of over 25,000 sq ft to nurture and promote entrepreneurship and business growth for new and existing SMEs within Darlington and the Tees Valley beyond.

The mix of high quality and flexible accommodation provides office and laboratory space that can respond to the specific needs of digital and technical businesses. Located within the heart of Central Park, Darlington, it will encourage further and continued investment into this critical site, allowing Darlington to deliver their long-term strategy of attracting and supporting the innovative businesses of the future.

The Centre offers a range of work environments with serviced laboratory space at ground level and a range of office and collaborative workspaces on the upper floors. The design has been developed with Willmott Dixon Construction through the Scape Framework and is being funded by the Council, Tees Valley Combined Authority and the ERDF as well as the government’s Getting Building Fund.
