Designs for £5million Restoration of Historic Newcastle City Baths revealed

Napper Architects have revealed their designs for the restoration of Newcastle City Pool and Turkish Baths as part of a six week public consultation. Napper were appointed by Fusion Lifestyle, the charity behind the redevelopment, last year and have been working with them in bringing the historic civic building back to life.

The building, opened in 1928 to replace the original baths designed by John Dobson, contains one of only a few Turkish Baths left in the country. The plans for the Grade II listed complex include the restoration of the Turkish Baths, the refurbishment of the pool and the addition of a gym and café to convert the site into a modern health and wellbeing facility for the city.

Construction work is due to begin later in the year with a planned opening by Spring 2018.
