Practical Completion of Sedgefield Fire & Ambulance Station

Practical Completion has been achieved for the refurbished Sedgefield Fire Station designed by Napper Architects. The remodelled and extended building has been designed to further accommodate the North East Ambulance Service as well as inmproving the facilities for the Fire Service. 

The original fire station was typical of the 1960s era that it was built in, with a low key entrance and limited facilities. The remodelled building significantly improves the visual appearance and entrance of the building with curtain walling and zinc cladding replacing the uPVC glazing. A timber clad extension softens the western elevation that faces Hardwick Park. This extension accommodates a new seminar room and facilities for the Ambulance Service, this in turn frees up other space internally for a new gym, changing & shower facilities.
